My Two Best Friends

Friends are one of the most important things that we have in life. We have many friends and we can not live without them. We can never have enough friends. However, all of US have two or three people that we consider our “best friends. My best two friends are very different one from the other and they make me happy in very different ways. My best two friends names are Joe and Joy.

Joe has been my best friend since the day we were born. He is only four months younger than me. He is not only my best friend but he is also my cousin. We do not look alike at all. He is much taller and has long hair. However, our personalities are very similar. We both live เท Bangkok and we went to the same school, high school and university, although we studied different majors. We always have something to talk about and we have no secrets between each other. He is the person that always understands the way I feel and the way I think. Joe knows me better than my parents. What I like best about Joe is that he is always there when I need him, in the good times and the unhappy times. He has never let me down. They say that a friend in need is a friend indeed. That IS Joe.

On the other hand, Joy is completely different. She is not even a person. She is my faithful dog, but nevertheless my best friend. Joy is a big dog with long blond fur. She is a Golden Retriever and has won two dog beauty contests. Joy makes me happy in some ways that people cannot. She makes me feel good because she is always happy to see me She makes me feel safe and self-confident. Joy senses when I am happy and when I am sad. She understands me as much as Joe does. I wished I had more friends like Joy

Something that really makes me upset is that Joe and Joy do not get along. I have tried to spend time with the two of them together, but it is impossible. They do not like each Other. Joe says that he loves cats and that hates dogs. Joy does not say anything and she does not make any effort to be friends with Joe. I do not know what to do. Why my best two friends cannot get along? I wished someone could help me with this.

People need friends. It does not matter if they are humans or animals, but we need to love and feel loved. Joe and Joy makes me feel special in different ways and I know that I make them feel important too. They know that I love them and I know that they love me. Joe and Joy are definitely my best friends.

How to Get Rid of Boredom

Are we bored of watching television? There are many things to do in Bangkok; however, there are still people who get bored all the time. There are many ways to have fun. The best wav to avoid boredom is spending time with our friends. Playing sports, shopping, going to the movies, and reading books are also some popular ways to keep ourselves entertained. However, there are other ways such as camping and hiking.

Spending time with our friends is probably the most popular and cheapest way to get rid of boredom. Most of the times we do not have to do anything, especially for there are always interesting topics to talk about with our friends. Some think that a good book is the best friends. However, if we think that our friends are boring or we dislike reading, we can always play sports. Football, badminton, tagrau, and aerobics are very popular sports in Thailand. They are cheap too; we do not have to spend much money.

If we are not the sport-type of person, or we do not have anyone to play sports with, we can go to the mail. But be careful, this is going to cost you some money. There are people who go to shopping centers for window shopping only. This is very entertaining too, but very difficult to accomplish. You need a lot of self-control. Going to the movies is a nice way to get rid of boredom, although it costs some money as well. We can go alone or with companions. At any given time, there is a wide variety of movies, and it is not being difficult to find one of our likes.

Hiking and camping are very good ways to get rid of boredom. They are very healthy for both our heart and our mind. They also get US in contact with nature. The problem with these activities is that they require some planning and a lot of free time. However, if we do have the time, I strongly recommend these activities, especially for the people who live in Bangkok and other big cities.

Getting rid of boredom is not as difficult as some people think. There is an uncountable number of things we can do, especially in cities like Bangkok. Some are cheap and some are not, but if we think about it, there is not reason to get bored.

The Causes of Failures in Examination

Examinations are necessarily educational instruments used for students’ evaluation or assessments. Consequently, the results of their examination reflect students’ knowledge and their progress in their current studies. Final examinations in any courses result in the students’ promotion to the next level or repetition the same level in case of their inability to pass the examinations. Failures in examinations can have various effects on the students. In my opinions, failures in examinations could be attributed to three causes: lack of interest, inadequate Planning and inadequate communication.

For the first cause of failures in examination, students’ lack of interest is the fundamental cause because of several reasons. When students lack of interest in their study, they do not put much effort in their learning. They may be lazy, so they do not attend classes regularly. Some may not do the assignments and review their lectures. This may cause their study much behind the schedule. To avoid the problem, they may hang around the shopping mall or internet cafe. When the examination day comes, they do not prepare anything for their exam and then they fail the examination.

As for the second cause of failures in the examination, some students might have inadequate planning for the courses they want to register in each semester. Some students both study and work at the same time, so they do not have sufficient time for their study and examination’s preparations. They cannot attend regular lectures and what they do is to do self-study at home. This is not enough for passing the examinations. Other students may have time constraint problem as they register too many courses in a semester. If they take many courses and they do not have adequate planning, they will face with the situation of taking many final examinations about the same time. This could lead to failures in examinations for causes that students do not put enough effort.

As for the last cause of failures in the examinations, inadequate communication can lead to failures in examination. Inadequate communication could occur throughout the course and during the examination. At the beginning of the course, the students might not know the goals of the course as they may not attend classes. Then they may not have some friends to ask when they do not understand the lectures. Some may hesitate to ask the lecturers when they have gone behind the schedules. During the examinations, they may not understand the instructions and they do not ask for clarification. Some may not have a good writing skill to write answers to the exam questions. All of these things could lead to failures in the examinations.

In conclusion, the previous paragraphs should explain the three causes of failures in examinations. They are lack of interest, inadequate planning, and inadequate communication. Failures in examination cause the students being left behind their peers and they have to pay fees to retake the examination. Thus, the students who do not succeed in their examinations most encounter with social and financial effects on their study in the schools or universities.

Give the Reasons Why Rural People Migrate to Bangkok

Thailand has a total population of sixty-two million people. Eight million people live in the city of Bangkok alone. That means that almost thirteen percent of the total population lives in the capital city. This happens in every country in the world, the inhabitants of rural areas migrate to the nation’s capital. However, there are plenty of reasons why rural people have migrated to Bangkok and it is difficult to discuss of them. In this analysis, the reasons that cause them migrate to Bangkok can be classified into three aspects: their higher education, their employment opportunities, and their investments.

Education is very important in our society. Students like to study in the best universities to be ready for the real world. The best universities and colleges are located in Bangkok. A lot of people from the countryside come to the big city to study. They spend some a few years here and when it is time to go back they realize that they do not want to go. They meet many people here, probably their future spouses. They acknowledge that they will get better jobs if they stay here. Many of these students do not go back to their hometowns. They come for studying but they spend the rest of their lives here also.

Employment attracts many workers. Many people come to the big city searching for a job They come from small towns where there are very few jobs. There is nothing for them to do in their hometowns. They do not have jobs and they need to feed their families. There are thousands of different businesses in Bangkok. They think that the city is full of jobs and money. So they migrate to Bangkok and looks for a job. Some succeed and some do not, but they all believe that it is worth trying.

Investment causes many rich rural people who want to do their businesses come to Bangkok. They believe that migrating to Bangkok makes them receive many possibilities to do. They can be self-employed as they can invest their money in the stock market. They may use convenient business facilities, such as banking and financial institution. They may open their own business and be business counterparts with other people. Finally, they may bring local products to sell in Bangkok or to do international trade in Bangkok.

In conclusion, the above paragraphs have explained three aspects that cause rural people move to stay in Bangkok. The first aspect is their higher education and the second is their employment. The last aspect is their investment purpose as many of them are businessmen who have found Bangkok convenient place for their business.

The Effects of Deforestation

Deforestation is the clearing of large areas of lands, jungles and forests. It involves the cutting down, burning and damaging of big number of trees. Unfortunately, deforestation is a fact across the Earth, especially in underdeveloped and developing countries. The effects of deforestation are very cruel when it occurs on tropical forests. Tropical forests are not only beautiful but they are vital for human, animal and vegetable life. We need wood for houses and furniture. We need paper, which comes from trees. Also, we deforest for planting crops and grazing cattle. However, the important issue here is not the causes but the effects of deforestation. The effects, as explained below, are quite severe and harmful for our lives.

Deforestation affects the environment in many ways. First of all, it has killed a lot of species of animals by taking away the habitat that those species live in. Many animals are unable to adapt to live in another habitat and usually die off. It has also killed many species of plants because when deforestation takes place not only the big trees are cut down, the little plants also die.

Second of all, deforestation increases the greenhouse effect. A tree needs carbon dioxide to grow and perform the photo synthesis. However, when a tree is cut down and decomposes, it releases that carbon dioxide back into the atmosphere, which increases the greenhouse effect and helps the global warming. Scientists warn that global warming might melt the icebergs of the earth s poles and flood cities and towns.

Third of all, deforestation causes erosion because when trees are clear-cut, there are neither roots to hold the soil in place nor vegetation to lessen the impact of hard rain on the soil. Erosion relieves large amounts of sand and mud into the rivers and lakes. In addition, long periods of erosion cause desertification, which is increasing everyday.

How to Learn English Effectively

When students learn the English language, they want to be able to communicate with native speakers. That is, they must be able to listen to speak, to read and to write with them. To master these four skills efficiently, they cannot rely on only Thai teachers teaching English and many things should be done in order to learn English effectively. Therefore, in my opinion, there are three guidelines for any student who wants to achieve these goals. They are-studying English with native speakers of English, devoting much time and effort on learning and understanding all systems of rules, and practicing using them very often in the daily life conversation.

As for the first guideline, it will be very lucky if any student has a good start learning English with the native speakers, since he or she can have early opportunity to listen and to speak the correct accents, otherwise, his or her accents will be influenced by the mother tongue or the Thai language. Therefore, good model is necessary for his or her imitation. In case that there is no chance to have a native speaker, that person must listen to the conversations from the tapes with the scripts everyday. When the time passes by, that person can gradually pick up correct pronunciations, words, phrases and sentences.

As for the second guideline, that person must spend time and effort on learning and memorizing all kinds of rules so that that person knows the content of the English language. This includes the understanding the English phonological system, morphological system and the grammatical systems. To master all of these aspects, it is very time-consuming and it requires regular attention so that this knowledge is developed unconsciously. Thai person should spend much time on reading available textbooks and materials in addition to learning from the native speakers.

As for the last guideline, that person should learn the usages parts of the rules. This part will be concerned with the cultural aspects of the English language. That person must learn how to select pronunciations of words and phrases to agree with the context or how to write a word or phrase in a particular context. That is, that person must understand different types of usages. Moreover, if that person can understand what he or she speak, how to speak and practice speaking regularly between friends or among friends, finally that person will develop his or her communicative skills and he or she will be able to speak with native speakers when the opportunity comes.

Characteristics of a Good Police Officer

Police is necessary in our society. They provide security and peace to this world, which is full of mean and dangerous people. They are supposed to serve, protect, and help all the citizens. It seems that not anyone is qualified to be a police officer. A police officer must have special characteristics due to his/her important responsibilities. So, what are the qualities of a good police officer?

The most important quality that police officers must have is common sense. Policemen are involved in many different problems every day. They must face all kind of situations. In any given, they must confront traffic accidents, robberies, kidnappings, threats, murders, etc. Some of these problems can be solved quickly by using common sense, especially the small law violations. In addition, all police officers carry firearms with them. It takes a lot of common sense to carry them in order to use them properly.

Secondly, a good police officer must be fair. The opinion of police officer is very important in a court of law. Police should be fair and honest, and treat everyone in an equal way. Therefore, a good police officer should never accept any kind of bribery because he/she should protect all the citizens equally. In fact, he/she should prosecute this type of activity.

Thirdly, a good police officer must know, understand, and obey the law. Police officers should be an example for the people in their community. They should never break the law so people around them can trust them and learn from them. They should be energetic and enthusiastic about obeying the law.

Once you are called for an interview, you need to prepare for it. Learn as much information as you can of the company that is going to interview you. You have to know their products and services, their annual sales revenue, etc. But most importantly, you have to be ready to answer some common questions, such as describe yourself, what your strongest and weakest points are, what you can do for this company, and you expected salary. Causes and Effects of Traffic Jam in Bangkok

Bangkok, the capital and the largest city in Thailand, has been facing traffic congestions for decades. It has led to many subsequent losses and damages, e.g. stress of people and economical loss. Therefore, several concerned government agencies have made their efforts in improving the situation. However, the problem continues to worsen and becomes even more complicated due to the continuing expansion of city and increase of population. In my opinion, the causes and effects of traffic jam in Bangkok are following:

The first cause of traffic congestion in Bangkok is due to the whole city plan and public transportation services, which are unsuitable to meet the rapid growth of Bangkok and surrounding areas. For the city plan, the concerned authorities in the past failed to enforce concerned laws to promote the effectiveness of the proposed city plan, while mass transportation networks are quite scarce. This is to say that the present commuter train lines, both BTS and MRT, do not reach every corner of Bangkok. This is why more and more Bangkokians are dependent on private cars instead of public services.

The next cause is that Bangkok drivers and riders are neglect the traffic rules and are quite selfish in using their cars, while the traffic police are not sufficient to cope with the breach of those rules. Therefore, once the accident is occurred, it takes time to solve the problem. Then, it will block the traffic flow and worsen the traffic congestion in Bangkok.

For the effect of traffic problem, it causes many subsequently severe loss and damage both for quality of life and for economical aspect. Bangkokians spend more several hours to travel inside the city. The students have to wake up very early in order to reach their schools on time. This leads to the stress of people. For the economical loss, the traffic jam leads to the waste of fuel and energy.

In conclusion, the above paragraph give some examples of the causes of traffic jam in Bangkok, namely unsuitable city plan, poor mass transportation networks, negligent behaviors of drivers and riders and inadequacy of traffic police squad. Besides, some effects of traffic problems are also given here, e.g. the stress of Bangkokians and the waste of fuel and energy. Therefore, it is necessary now for all concerned government agencies to pay more close attention to this problem in order to solve this problem. The betterment of traffic jam will lastly benefit all Bangkokians as well, as improve their quality of life.
